How long will my Europa XS take to Build?
The Europa XS will take between 800 – 1500 man hours. This is dependent upon the skill and speed of the builder, the level of avionics and instrumentation, the paint and interior finish.

How much space do I need to build my Europa XS?
You can never have too much space to build!

A double garage is ideal, but components of the kit can be built in a single garage of 18’ by 8’. Once you need to attach the wings, you’ll need at least 30ft across the diagonal for short periods, but many of our builders do this outdoors as at this stage it’s nearing the finishing touches.

Rumour has it, a Europa XS is currently being constructed in a flat and will be finalised outside in good weather.

Do I need any special skills to build the Europa?
No, the plans and kits are designed for a first time builder, with no experience in building aircrafts or composites. The plans provide the builder with step by step instructions of what to do, how to do it and when to do it.

Can I buy a ready-built Europa?
No, the Europa can only be purchase from the Europa Aircraft factory as a kit, however builders support and assistance is always available.

Will I fit into the Europa XS cockpit?
Pilots as tall as 6’6” have said they fit into the Europa XS comfortably. For the taller pilot we have designed a Hi-top fuselage providing an additional 2inch of head room.
The fuselage cockpit is 44inches wide.

What engines can I fit into the Europa XS?
The recommended engines are the Rotax ULS (100hp) and the Rotax 914 UL Turbo (115hp). These engines are supported by the company with a complete and very comprehensive installation package. In our experience, these have proven to be the most reliable.

What Propellers can I use on the Europa XS?
The standard fixed-pitch propeller for the Rotax engine is the American Warp-Drive 3-blade 62” diameter Ground Ajustable.  The propeller is manufactured from carbon fibre and has an in-laid nickel leading edge to protect against erosion.
